The Lighthouse Receives Accreditation from Nationally Recognized Organization
GASTONIA, N.C. – The Lighthouse: Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) today announced that it has received its official notice of accreditation through the National Children’s Alliance.
This accreditation recognizes that the CAC model follows best practice. It also ensures accountability for standards including case review, mental health/medical services, family advocacy, interviewing, child appropriate environment, etc. Moreover, the accreditation proves the staff and partners’ commitment to providing the best service to children and their families (i.e. ongoing training, appropriate certification, etc.). Finally, it allows for additional funding as an accredited center.
“We are very proud of our team and partners as this process is a very intensive look at our work. Receiving accreditation shows the commitment of our local agencies and internal staff to helping child victims of abuse,” said Heather Kauffman, Program Manager for The Lighthouse. “This is something for our entire community to be proud of! The Lighthouse and MDT are all working together for children and their healing journey.”
