Emergency Blood Drives to be Held in Gaston County
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – The American Red Cross, in partnership with the Gaston County YMCA, will hold several emergency blood drives over the next two weeks. The blood drives will be at the Pharr YMCA at 208 Main Street in McAdenville. There will be six blood drives in all and will be 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, March 24-26 and Tuesday-Thursday, March 31-April 2.
Donations are crucial right now because many blood drives have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to collect at least 20 pints each day, and all blood types are needed. Donors can rest assured that these blood drives will follow “social distancing” mandates.
“We’re taking extra measures to allow medically-recommended space between donors, whenever possible,” said American Red Cross Account Manager Julie Farr.
Donors and staff will also have their temperature taken before being permitted into the blood drive.
If you would like to donate at the upcoming blood drives, please schedule your appointment at www.redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code PharrYMCA.
