Gaston Appoints County Attorney
Gastonia – The Gaston County Board of Commissioners announced today the hiring of Jonathan Lee Sink as County Attorney. Mr. Sink received his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law.
Mr. Sink has experience working in the office of the County Manager in Mecklenburg County as well as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County School System. He is currently the Executive Director of the North Carolina Republican Party.
Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman, Tracy Philbeck said the decision to hire Mr. Sink was unanimous. “I look forward to working with Mr. Sink and have every confidence we will have a smooth transition.”
Mr. Sink said, “My heart is filled with gratitude, humility, and excitement as I undertake the important role of Gaston County Attorney. What an honor it is and will be to serve this great Board and this great County.” Mr. Sink grew up in the Piedmont of North Carolina. He is married and has 3 children.
The position of County Attorney is being vacated by Charles Moore who is retiring after 39 years of service with Gaston County. Mr. Moore will continue employment with the County during the transition.
The Board of Commissioners formalized Mr. Sink’s appointment during a special meeting today.
