Gaston County Police Respond to Shooting
On Friday September 25, 2020 at 11:18 A.M. the Gaston County Police responded to High Shoals in reference to a shooting. The victim was shot at a residence on River Street and sought help at a nearby post office. Police and Gaston Emergency Medical Services responded to the call.
The Gaston County Police located the suspect, Ronnie Keith Estep, at 300 River Street in High Shoals. After a thorough investigation, Mr. Estep was arrested and charged with the following:
- Attempted 1st Degree Murder
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Mr. Estep is currently in the Gaston County Jail on a hold with no bond pending his first court appearance.
The victim was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released.
