Gaston County Police Explorer Post 525

The Gaston County Police Explorer Program is an educational and experience-based program designed to help young people develop into mature and responsible adults. GCPD Explorers are given the opportunity to learn all facets of police work. The program meets once a month. Every third Thursday, between 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Explorers also participate in department parades, crime prevention events, and assist with Gaston County Police functions. Qualifications:

  • Age: between 14 – 21
  • Education: Currently enrolled in school and maintain a C grade or high
  • Criminal Convictions: must not have been convicted of any criminal offense, or be under criminal investigation, nor can an applicant be under probation.
  • Pass a Background Investigation
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to participate in the program
