County Police Apprehend Wanted Fugitive
On Monday August 21, 2017 at approximately 5:30 pm, the Gaston County Police Department located Isaac Avery Brown, 20 years old, a wanted gang member. Late last week North Carolina Probation and Parole violated Mr. Brown’s probation after he cut off his electronic monitoring ankle bracelet. The underlying charges were felony Breaking and Entering and felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense.
The Gaston County Police had received information about Mr. Brown’s location and went to attempt to apprehend him. Upon seeing the police, Mr. Brown, who was in a car, struck a Gaston County Police car and pulled out into on-coming traffic. Mr. Brown’s vehicle was struck by a passing motorist but he fled the scene of the accident. Mr. Brown’s vehicle sustained sufficient damage, as a result of the initial traffic collision, rendering his vehicle only able to travel at very low speeds. Officers with the Gaston County Police Department engaged in a low speed pursuit. Officers were able to then utilize stop sticks to deflate additional tires on the Honda Civic Mr. Brown was driving and bring the situation to a safe resolution. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
Mr. Brown is a known gang member who was wanted on numerous outstanding charges. Mr. Brown faces additional charges as a result of today’s incident. Mr. Brown is under a $369,000 bond as well as a hold due to the outstanding charges.
