Virtual Field Trips
Gaston Natural Resources offers guided Virtual Field Trips through Wakelet. Field Trips feature videos demonstrating hands-on activities for students to complete at school in small, socially distanced settings. Activities may also be adapted for at-home learning. Most field trips incorporate an outdoor component, acknowledging the need to balance screen time with green time to support mental health. Tips for taking your students outside can be found here.
All efforts have been made to keep required materials at a minimum. Teachers, if you would like to check out materials from Gaston Natural Resources, please contact Erin Hines.Optional add-on: Our Environmental Educator would love to “meet” your class! Email Erin Hines to set up a virtual Q&A with our educator. Discussion may cover your classes’ Field Trip questions or experiences, and/or environmental careers in general.
