  • Provide front-line support and customer service for all County departments via the IT Service Desk
  • Provide technical support, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement for desktop PC’s, laptops, tablets, and printers
  • Evaluate hardware/software, product lines, and alternate solutions to meet Gaston’s ever-increasing technological requirements
  • Ensure the acquisition of all IT-related hardware and software meets the County's standards
  • Manage the life expectancy and related technology refresh cycle of pertinent equipment
  • Provide technology quotes as needed
  • Manage the vendor relationships and ensure the County is receiving competitive pricing
  • Manage the County's 2 IBM iSeries servers (AS/400s), including backups, data synchronization, updates, etc.
  • Oversee contractual agreements as needed
  • Manage and report on hardware and software as need to ensure compliance with licenses, standards, security, and more
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of technology assets
  • Provide approved methods of disposal for surplus IT equipment, currently via eBay auctions
