Biography
Lara has been the Adult and Aging Services Administrator since April of 2022. She has her Master's Degree in Public Health from East Carolina University as well as her Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, also from East Carolina University. Prior to joining Gaston Department of Health and Human Services, she served for three years at the statewide level as a Regional Adult Services Consultant through the Division of Aging and Adult Services. She provided oversight, monitoring, assistance to 15 different counties in the provision of their Adult Services programs.
Prior to joining the State she also worked for 2 years in the Wilson County DSS as an Adult Services Supervisor and 5 years in the Wayne County DSS as a Program Manager of Adult Services. She serves on several statewide committees that are working towards the advancement and expansion of Adult Protective Services and Guardianship policy.
