Biography
Cheri Singleton is the Interim Personal Health Services and Nursing Administrator for the Public Health Division of the Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services. She joined the department as the Assistant PHS Administrator in 2015. She holds a Master's in Nursing in Communities and Diverse Populations from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a Bachelor's in Science Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma WA. She comes to Gaston County with 22 years of experience in nursing, volunteering in the community on health education, Parish Nursing, and working as a Public Health Nurse in Tacoma, WA with Child Health, Maternity, Child Protective Services, Childcare Nurse Consulting, and program development with Maternal Fetal Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis Washington.
She moved to North Carolina in 2006, working in Mecklenburg County Health Department/Carolinas Health Care System as a Maternal Child Health Manager over Maternal Child Health Programs and several Smart Start Grants. She moved to Levine Children's Hospital's Teen Health Connection as a Clinical Nurse Specialist working with adolescent eating disorder patients, providing clinical care, and serving as a liaison with Mecklenburg County Adolescent Foster Care program.
