What is an STI / STD?

Sexually transmitted infections (also known as STIs or STDs) are caused by a bacteria, virus, or parasite. They can be transmitted from person-to-person through sexual activity, shared needles, blood transfusions, or from mother to baby. All STIs are treatable, but not all are curable. If left untreated, STIs can cause long-term problems, such as pain, infertility, or cancer. For more information about the different STIs, visit: https://rhntc.org/sites/default/files/resources/fpntc_std_tool_eng.pdf

If you are experiencing symptoms you should schedule a provider exam visit to be tested.
