Tracy Philbeck is a lifelong resident of Gaston County, graduating from North Gaston High School and earning his associate's degree at Gaston College before earning his bachelor's degree in government pre-law at Campbell University. He is the president of Treescape, Inc.
He serves and has served on numerous community boards including the Caromont Health Board of Directors, Dallas Rescue Squad, Gaston College Board of Trustees, the Least of These of Gaston County, the Dream Center of Gaston County, and chairs the Intergovernmental and Interagency Task Force on Homelessness. As a commissioner, Philbeck has served on boards such as the Gaston County Economic Development Commission, Children's Advocacy Center of Gaston County, National Association of Counties Community and Economic Development Steering Committee, and North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Public Education Steering Committee, as well as countless others.
Philbeck has served as Commissioner since January of 2009. During that time, he spent five years as vice-chair and four years as chairman.
