[ARCHIVED] Gaston County Police Make Arrests After Vehicle Pursuit

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at about 10:30am Gaston County Police attempted to stop a GMC SUV near Noles Dr and Craig St. Mt. Holly, NC because it was a suspected stolen vehicle displaying a stolen license plate.  The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.  The vehicle pursuit continued up to the Mountain Island Lake area.  County Police deployed tire deflation devices (stopsticks) near Hwy 16.  The driver continued to flee until the vehicle became disabled as a result of flat tires.  The driver then drove down an embankment in to a wooded area where he and a female passenger then fled on foot.  The driver was spotted swimming in Mountain Island Lake by members of the Mt. Holly Fire Department.  He and the female were shortly thereafter apprehended by Gaston County Police K9 Units.

The driver, Christopher Lewis Moise, age 56, of 6415 Old Plank Rd. Charlotte, NC was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, felony flee/elude arrest, misdemeanor reckless driving, misdemeanor driving while license revoked and speeding in a work zone.  He also had two active Orders for Arrest for failure to appear in court.  He is currently being held in the Gaston County Jail under a $101,000 secured bond.

The female passenger, Natasha Joanna Arrowood, age 39, of 209 Wood St. Mt. Holly, NC was also taken into custody.  She has been transported to Caromont Regional Medical Center for treatment after complaining of illness.  She faces charges for resisting/delaying/obstructing officers once she is released from the hospital.  She also has an active arrest warrant for a probation violation.
