[ARCHIVED] April Drive Shooting Suspect Arrives in Gaston County

On Saturday, April 29, 2023 detectives with the Gaston County Police Criminal Investigations and Special Investigations Units traveled to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Tampa, Florida.  This morning at 6:00 am, the group of investigators took custody of the suspect in the shooting on April Drive and returned to Gaston County with him.  

After arriving in Gaston County, Singletary was taken before a Gaston County Magistrate where he was placed on a hold.  Accordingly, Singletary is currently being held without bond in the Gaston County jail and is expected to receive a first appearance Tuesday, May 2nd, at 9:30 a.m. in Gaston County Superior Court.

The Gaston County Police would like to thank the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s in Tampa, Florida, for their assistance in this investigation and extradition process.  

Although Mr. Singletary is in custody, the investigation into this shooting is on-going.  Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Det. J.
