The Gaston County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) is seeking applications for funding juvenile justice intervention and prevention services for fiscal years 2023-2024. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (DJJDP) allocated funds to Gaston County in fiscal year 2022-2023 in the amount of $666,963 and it is anticipated this amount will be allocated for the upcoming year. The use of DJJDP funds in this county requires a local cash or in-kind match of 20%.
Any public or private non-profit agency may apply for these funds. Priority will be given to proposals for services that will be used by the Juvenile Court as dispositional options:
Community Service/Restitution, Mentoring, Mental Health Care, Parent Skill Building, Pro-Social Peer Relationship and Social Skill Building, Substance Abuse Assessment and Treatment, School Behavior/Adjustment, and Vocational Training and as per North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) 7B-2506 or 2503; or as a resource for intake diversion plans or contracts, as specified in NCGS 1706.
The web-based program application is available online at the Department of Public Safety website.
There will be a Mandatory Applicants Meeting for all agencies interested in applying for funding on 02/17/2023 at 10:00 a.m. At that time program agreement, budget and funding priority information will be made available.
