Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces

To help make sure that every veteran's DD form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) has been recorded and protected, we are offering a free service for all veterans. We have partnered with local businesses to offer discounts to those veterans who present a "Thank you for Your Service" Veteran Photo ID.

If you are interested in obtaining a "Thank you for Your Service" Veteran Photo ID, please bring your original DD214 (or a certified copy) and a current driver's license or other state-issued photo ID to our office between 8:30 am and 4 pm.

Veterans who have already recorded their DD214 in Gaston County only need to bring their current driver's license or other government-issued photo ID.

The Register of Deeds office is located in the Gaston County Courthouse, on the first floor, in Gastonia. Free parking is now available.

In return, we will advertise your business, free of charge, on our website and will provide you a poster that you can display at your business showing your support of our veterans.

Discounts may be a percentage of the sale or a specific dollar amount (both can be with restrictions). Or, you may wish to offer an incentive gift or gift card to veterans.
