The Register of Deeds office administers notary public oaths for Gaston County notaries anytime between the hours of 8:30 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The office also has a variety of notary forms available to the general public, including reappointment and change of name/address.
Anyone wishing to become a notary in North Carolina must attend a course of instruction at a Community College (attorneys are exempt from the requirement of attending a course of instruction). Information and registration for this class can be obtained from the Continuing Education Department of each community college. For information about obtaining notary certification through Gaston College, visit their website.
