The Gaston County Police Department Animal Care and Enforcement Division provides animal care services for the entire Gaston County area. These services include responding to animal care and enforcement calls for service, investigating reports of animal-related violations, maintaining the animal shelter, and working to place pets coming through the shelter.
The Animal Care and Enforcement team is comprised of the following positions: Veterinarian, Animal Care and Enforcement Specialists, Vet Technicians, Animal Care and Enforcement Aides and Attendants, Placement Coordinators, Records Specialists and Volunteers.
Animal Care and Enforcement Specialists are charged with the responsibility of enforcing State Laws and local ordinances relating to animals.
