Silence Hurts

Silence Hurts is a campaign designed to encourage students to break the code of silence. In the vast majority of serious campus violence incidents, someone knew prior to the act taking place. Many potential violent acts have been prevented because someone did the right thing. They took a stand. They did not allow themselves or their friends to be victims.

If you know of plans to commit violence on campus, do what you should. If you have information about something that has already happened tell somebody. Fill out the online form to email the information to the police. You do not need to give your name or any other identifying information. If you prefer, call Campus Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000. You can remain anonymous and you may receive money for the information you give. Regardless of how you communicate it, tell somebody - a teacher, your School Resource Officer, your parents, or any other responsible adult.
