Help fight heavy equipment theft in Gaston County by registering your equipment with the National Equipment Register (NER).
The National Equipment Register is a company offering heavy equipment owners the chance to register their equipment to be part of a national database. By registering with the NER, they will work with owners in three key areas: theft prevention, equipment recovery, and used equipment searches.
The NER can assist police in the identification and recovery of stolen equipment and provides a national database of owners. Heavy equipment is defined by NER as any off-road mobile equipment - either self-propelled or towed - and is commonly used in:
- Construction
- Farming
- Agriculture
- Highway maintenance
- Forestry
Anyone interested in registering your heavy equipment with the National Equipment Register, please contact Detective J. D. Costner at 704-862-6394 or visit NER's website for more details.
