Placement Partners

George Adopted May 2012Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement works closely with a network of local and out of state rescue organizations. We appreciate the assistance they provide us in helping to achieve our ultimate goal of having positive outcomes for all of the animals entering our shelter. In an effort to provide as many services as possible to our placement partners we do offer several incentives and resources:

  • Local transport within a 50 mile radius
  • Ability for long distance transport when all spots are filled
  • Grant funding through Gaston Low Cost Clinic for services to rescue animals
  • Local boarding resources
  • All of our animals are fully vetted by our on-staff Veterinary team, including vaccines, preventatives, dewormers and any required treatments animals may require
  • Behavior assessments are provided through various programs which include temperament testing, dog-to-dog interactions, etc.

Last year we had an intake of 2,885 animals of which 1,452 were released to rescue organizations!!
