The GAMTRA mission statement is to preserve the agricultural, mechanical, and textile heritage of Gaston County North Carolina and the surrounding areas, through the preservation, restoration, public demonstration, and education of technology.
GAMTRA was started in 1987 to honor the Blue Collar worker and the heritage of Gaston County. GAMTRA started Cotton Ginning Days in 1988 and partnered with Gaston County Parks and Recreation in 1989 for the 2nd Annual Cotton Ginning Days.
GAMTRA meets the 1st Thursday of each month, except in May and July, and membership fees are $10.
