Education
The Gaston Natural Resources Department offers a variety of Kindergarten through 12th grade environmental education programs for Gaston County students and teachers, including in-school, after-school, and summer programs. All programs utilize STEM and inquiry-based methods and are correlated to NC core standards where applicable. Environmental and natural resource education programs for adult and civic organizations are also available upon request. All programs are provided free of charge. Envirothon is the largest high school environmental science contest in North America.

Resource Conservation Workshop
Resource Conservation Workshop is a five-day summer intensive for rising 11th and 12th grade students with an interest in agriculture or natural resources- soils, aquatics, wildlife, forestry, and more.
