Narcotics-Related Arrests in Bessemer City

On Thursday, September 6 2012, The Gaston County Police arrested two individuals as the culmination of a five-month investigation regarding the sale of crack cocaine. A search warrant was executed at 335 Park Terrace Drive, Bessemer City, NC, at which time Kerry Lamont Clay (36 years old) and Rozanna Marie Nash (32 years old) were arrested and charged with multiple counts involving the sale and delivery of crack cocaine from their Park Terrace residence.

39th Citizens’ Police Academy Session to Begin in September

The Gaston County Police Department is currently taking applications for the 39th Session of its Citizens’ Police Academy. This Citizens’ Police Academy will be presented in eight sessions to be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

20lb Carp Caught in Dallas Park Over the Weekend

Over the weekend in Dallas Park, Rev. and Mrs. Walter Parker of Stanley NC caught this almost 20 pound carp. They both started fishing about 3 years ago and are delighted about their recent catch.

Animal Control to Conduct Neighborhood Canvass

Beginning on Monday, August 27, 2012, the Gaston County Police Department Animal Control Division will begin a neighborhood canvassing initiative in the area of W. Rankin and N. Ransom Streets in Gastonia. Research of crime analysis data from April through June 2012 indicated that this area had the highest number of reported complaints and Animal Control investigations in the county during that period.

911 Communication Center Receives Training Certification

The Gaston County Police Department 911 Communications Center has been awarded Project 33 Training Program Certification by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO). Gaston County is the only the 3rd dispatch agency in North Carolina and one of only 26th nationally to achieve this certification.

The Gaston County Police Department is investigating recurring vandalism at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery located at 800 N. 13th St., Bessemer City, NC. During the night hours of August 10, 2012, forty-two graves were desecrated.
