On 05/12/2013 the Gaston County Police Department charged Crystal Stamey Ball, age 34 and Mark Allen Ball, age 44 with (12) counts of Food Stamp Fraud and (12) counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense.

Flood Warning Issued For Dam Release for Catawba River In Gaston County

Due to recent weather events, water levels along the Catawba River System have continued to rise. Duke Energy, who regulates water levels along the Catawba River, is working to move high water levels through the Catawba River Basin.
