Plastics
All plastic CONTAINERS with # 1-7 on the bottom are recyclable EXCEPT for # 6, Styrofoam; yogurt containers, margarine containers, etc. PLEASE look for the triangle symbol on the bottom. Please rinse out bottles, jugs and containers to keep yellow jackets away. (No toothbrushes, rigid plastic, yard toys, etc.) MUST HAVE RECYCLE SYMBOL to recycle!

Cartons
Newly added to the recycling list: CARTONS! Refrigerated or shelf-stable cartons like milk, juice, soups, broth, wine etc. Just rinse and recycle with PLASTIC BOTTLES at convenience sites! If you have single stream at your home or business, toss with the rest of your recyclables!

Includes magazines, catalogs, phonebooks, junk mail, envelopes, office paper, sticky notes, file folders, cereal boxes and other paperboard boxes.

Automobile Batteries
Lead-acid batteries from cars, boats, and lawnmowers. Other types of batteries can be taken to the Gaston County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center for recycling.

Tires
Limit: 5 tires per person per day. Tires must be off the rim, and must be from passenger vehicles (cars, vans, motorcycles, etc.). Tires left on rims will cost $3 each. Larger numbers of tires must be brought directly to the landfill. Please call 704-922-0267 for an appointment.

Electronics and TVs
$4.00 charge per TV and computer monitor.

Computer Equipment
Computers and peripherals (printers, scanners, mice, keyboards, etc.) are accepted for recycling. There is a $4.00 charge per monitor. All other computer equipment is accepted for free.

Used Antifreeze

Yard Debris
Includes tree branches, grass clippings, brush, leaves, etc. Materials must be removed from bags before recycling. There is a $4 - $8.00 charge depending on load size.
