Police Investigate Home Invasion

On Sunday July 7, 2019 at approximately 1215 AM, the Gaston County Police Department responded to 115 Starlight Drive, Lincolnton, NC, in reference to a possible home invasion. 

The victim answered a knock at his front door and was confronted by a suspect brandishing a firearm.  The suspect’s ethnicity is unknown due to the fact  he was dressed in dark colored clothing and wearing a ski type mask.  The suspect is described as a male approximately 6 feet tall and medium build.

The suspect restrained 2 of the victim’s family members hands behind their backs and then placed them inside the residence.  The suspect then rummaged through the victim’s bedroom.  At some point the suspect struck the victim in the face and then  removed his wallet and stole $200 dollars.  The victim was then taken outside and bound to a piece of lawn furniture on the back porch of the residence before the suspect fled on foot.

Gaston County Police processed the scene for evidence and utilized a K9 Unit to attempt to locate the suspect as part of the investigative process.  Currently, the Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing this investigation.
