Gaston County Police Resolve Hostage Situation
On Saturday May 26, 2018 at approximately 9:49 p.m. the Gaston County Police responded to the 1000 block of Old Dallas Highway, near Dallas, NC in reference to a hostage situation. Scott Warren Flow, 48 years old of Ft Mill, SC, reportedly forced his way into the victim’s residence. The victim, whose name is not being released due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, was held against her will. The victim’s children were able to flee from the house and notify a neighbor who contacted the Gaston County Police.
Responding officers were not able to get Flow nor the victim out of the residence and requested assistance from the Gaston County Police Department’s Emergency Response Team. After numerous attempts to resolve the situation through negotiations, the Emergency Response Team utilized tactical means to enter the residence and arrest Flow. The victim was taken to Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC for treatment. Information regarding the victim’s injuries will not be released.
Mr. Flow was arrested and charged with Frist Degree Burglary, First Degree Kidnapping and Violation of a Domestic Violence Protective Order (50B). He is currently held in the Gaston County Jail and no bond has been set while he awaits first appearance court. Flow and the victim had a previous dating relationship.
