Animal Care and Enforcement Recruitment

The Gaston County Police Department Animal Care and Enforcement Division provides animal care services for the entire Gaston County area. These services include responding to animal care and enforcement calls for service, investigating reports of animal-related violations, maintaining the animal shelter, and working to place pets coming through the shelter.

The Animal Care and Enforcement team is comprised of the following positions: Animal Care and Enforcement Officers, Animal Care and Enforcement Specialists, Animal Care and Enforcement Aides, Police Records Specialists, and Animal Care and Enforcement Dispatchers.

An Animal Care and Enforcement Officer is a sworn law enforcement officer charged with the responsibility of enforcing State Laws and local ordinances relating to animals, as well as the legal application of enforcement options to include arrest.
