Sticks For Kids is a FREE clinic open to kids ages 5-16 and takes places each in year in April. The clinic focuses on driving, chipping, and putting. Kids enrolled in the clinic will receive one-on-one instruction from the Clemson Men's Golf Team, Belmont Abbey Men & Women’s Golf Team and Forestview High School Golf Team.

BIKEFEST in an annual event Sponsored by Gaston County Travel & Tourism and takes place in April. The event is held at George Poston Park which is home to over 10 miles of mountain bike trails and was named a National Recreation Trail in 2015. BIKEFEST features live music, food vendors, bike demos, local bike shop vendors, FREE guided trail rides, mountain bike skills clinic, and much more.
Just Plain Dog Show

Just Plain Dog Show is an annual event taking place in May each year. All ages (6 years and older) are eligible to participate, we will have two age groups for each event: 17 and under and 18+.The show has two categories with 18 different classes for your four legged friend to participate in. There is no admission or entry fee.

August 17th: Spiderman Homecoming
During the summer months (May, June, July, August) we host several movies in the park. These take place on the 3rd Friday of each month and are movies are open to the public, have free admission and free popcorn. All movies begin at sunset.
Kids Catfish Tournament

Kids Catfish Tournament is annual kids fishing tournament in July. This is the perfect opportunity to introduce your kids to fishing. We have a limited supply of fishing poles that will be loaned out via the Kids Fishing Program. All kids MUST be accompanied by an adult. Adults are not permitted to fish during the tournament. Prizes will be awarded.
Friday July 27th 6pm-10pm
Family Fun Night Carnival takes place on a Friday night in July as part of National Parks and Recreation Month. The Carnival is held at Dallas Park. Highlights of the event include, rides provided by R&D Amusements, games, bouncy house, music, funnel cakes, cotton candy, fried Oreos, shaved ice, and ice cream. Admission to the event is free.

Cornhole Tournaments are held in the spring, summer, and fall. Tournaments are held at Dallas Park, located at 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. Tournaments are double elimination, doubles tournament, played by traditional straight 21 rules. Tournament will consist of two age groups with a 1st and 2nd place prize for each age group. Age groups consist of the following, Adults: ages 18-49, and Seniors: ages 50 and up.
Cotton Ginning Days

Cotton Ginning Days is an annual three day festival that takes place the second weekend in October. The festival consist of antique engine and farm equipment vendors and exhibitors from all over the southeast, two days of live bluegrass and folk music and various food vendors. Stanley Creek Massacre 5K/10K

The Annual Stanley Creek Massacre 5K and 10K race takes place in October in downtown Stanley.
1890s Historic Christmas Village

The Annual 1890’s Heritage Village Christmas is a celebration of what Christmas was like for the majority of Gaston County residents at the turn of the 20th Century. This free Christmas celebration is held at the 1890’s Heritage Village at Dallas Park in December. Visitors can enjoy Christmas as it may have been during the 1890’s and early 1900’s here in Gaston County. The event features Christmas crafts, apple cider, s’more’s, hot chocolate and cookies. Santa on hand to share the holiday cheer so don’t forget to bring your cameras.
