Patsy HaneyPatsy joined the Gaston County Emergency Management and Fire Marshal’s Office in August, 2003 as Emergency Program Specialist.  She brought much experience in office management and Administrative Support to the departments.  Her job title has now changed to Administrative Support Specialist IV.  Patsy has completed several Emergency Management training classes and now is certified as an Executive Level in Emergency Management by the State of North Carolina.  She is available to assist the citizens of Gaston County with needs such as smoke detector requests, fire reports, providing burn permit information and general fire related questions.  She also works closely with the 26 Fire Departments that provide fire protection services throughout the County to provide needed and requested information, especially during the annual budget process.  Patsy serves as secretary for the Local Emergency Planning Committee and The Gaston County Fire Advisory Board.  She participates in the FEMA graded Nuclear Drills and prepares reports for Office of the State Fire Marshal regarding NFIRS (National Fire Incident Reporting System).  She performs administrative duties for 2 departments (Emergency Management and the Fire Marshal’s Office) by processing payroll, accounts payable and assisting with daily operations.
