On 12/30/2011 the Gaston County Police arrested Phillip Leon Crane (7/8/57) in connection to an ongoing child pornography investigation. On 1/6/2011 a search warrant was served on Mr. Crane at 2233 Rankin Rd., Gastonia, NC, where various types of digital and electronic evidence were collected for examination. As a result of the forensic examination of the evidence, images of child pornography were located.
The ages of the unknown victims ranged from approximately 2 years of age to 12 years of age, and displayed them engaged in sexual acts consisting of oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex and masturbation.
Mr. Crane was charged with 10 counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He was released on a $25,000.00 unsecured bond.
The Gaston County Police Department is a member of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, whose assistance with training and equipment, aid the department in these investigations.
