Dog Park Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony

Gaston County Parks and Recreation celebrated the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of Gaston County's first dog park on March 28, 2009 at George Poston Park, located at 1101 Lowell-Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC 28056. The celebration began at 10 am and leashed canine friends were encouraged to be part of the event.

The dog park is located north of the park's soccer fields, at the base of Spencer Mountain. The 4.5 acre dog park consists of separate enclosed areas for small and large dogs.

Dog parks unite individuals from different walks of life with a common bond: the love they have for their pets. Dog parks allow pets to become more socialized and better “canine neighbors”.
