The Natural Resources Department works to sustain and improve the natural resources of Gaston County through regulatory, voluntary and education programs.  Regulatory programs include the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control and the Stormwater Ordinances.  These regulate stormwater runoff from construction sites and from developed sites.  Voluntary programs include the Volunteer Agricultural District and Enhanced Volunteer Agriculture District, plus many state and federal programs.

MISSION:  To provide leadership and conservation assistance to the people of Gaston county to improve and sustain their soil, water, air, plant and wildlife resources.

Tuesday June 5, 2012-- Gaston Natural Resources will be hosting a training seminar on county, state, and federal ordinances/updates affecting soil erosion/sedimentation and stormwater programs.
