The West Africa Ebola Outbreak is currently affecting four countries: Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria. If you or someone you know has recently traveled to one of these countries, see below for guidance on risk and transmission of the virus. On Saturday, September 27, Health Departments in Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba and Iredell counties will distribute potassium iodide (KI) to residents living within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ) of the McGuire and Catawba Nuclear Stations.
